Survey TABE
Students seeking admissions to PSAV (vocational certificate) programs must take the T.A.B.E. (Test for Adult Basic Education).
Every program has a basic academic standard that must be met to earn a certificate of completion. The academic standard is used as a guideline to determine the ability of the applicant to benefit from the technical instruction. After taking the TABE test, students complete a registration form and review their career or academic plans with the counselor. At that time, a schedule will be prepared outlining the course of study for the student. In most programs, students may begin technical instruction while also attending vocational preparatory classes to increase academic skill proficiency. The test is free to prospective students. An online study guide for the TABE is located at: www.studyguidezone.com
The Survey test is given: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4:00 p.m.
2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m.

The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) is part of Florida’s overall plan to increase student achievement by implementing higher standards. The FCAT, administered to students in Grades 3-11, contains two basic components: criterion-referenced tests (CRT), measuring selected benchmarks in Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing from the Sunshine State Standards (SSS); and norm-referenced tests (NRT) in Reading and Mathematics, measuring individual student performance against national norms.
